Richard Durrant – The Guitar Whisperer
There is no other guitar concert on tour anywhere in the world quite like Richard Durrant’s “Guitar Whisperer”. The 2010 show begins with a virtuosic trip to Latin America followed by a stunning arrangement of Debussy’s Arabesque. The adventure continues with Richard’s unique solo take on Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells played to footage of the Apollo Moon Landings, JS Bach on the humble Ukulele and Manuel de Falla's Spanish Dance from La Vida Breve with Miranda Vincent’s Goya inspired film.
A musical voyage with Son et Lumiere. Spellbinding.
"The last few decades have seen the emergence of whole schools of very clever young guitarists. All comparisons are futile, just be sure to make a date with Richard Durrant wherever he is, and whatever the weather. You will not see his like anywhere else."

Candlelit Christmas Guitar Recitals 2010
For the past five years Richard Durrant has given a series of Candlelit Concerts to celebrate the festive season. These started in local Sussex churches but have now spread further a-field.
The 2009 concerts featured music by John Dowland, Sylvius Leopold Weiss, JS Bach, Benjamin Britten and William Walton. The candlelit settings, perfect for the time of year, created a wonderful atmosphere and showed off the beautiful instruments Richard brought to each performance.
Besides the seasonal theme the Christmas series was also a celebration and thanksgiving for the more than seventy solo recitals that Richard gave in 2009. These continue through 2010 including concerto performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Candlelit recitals for 2010 are already being planned and the repertoire will once again be a mixture of renaissance, contemporary and Christmas music. The high production values associated with Richard’s “Guitar Whisperer” shows will be carried through into these Christmas concerts with staging and lighting by Bill Hammond from Rambert Dance Company.
